In 2009, Kelly Mealia and Terry Small, a New York City-based wife & husband duo debuted a line of unique, high-end fashion jewelry that lends itself to surfer meets city chic edge. The aesthetic combines Kelly's love of glam-rock with Terry's love of all things beach having grown up in Carpinteria, CA. Together, Kelly & Terry dream up beautiful pieces with huge versatility. They love balancing the unexpected together, interweaving edgy with beach-side ease & elegance. Kelly & Terry love to create imaginative designs with a bohemian chic feel for both women and men.
OLLIE & BOO was born out of Kelly's needs to find the perfect pieces for clients in her fashion styling business. "I realized that I wanted jewelry that could stretch the limits of versatility in a woman's lifestyle-not compromising the high-quality of semi-precious stones, but also not breaking their bank." After hours of scouring the city for certain jewelry she couldn't find, Kelly began creating those very pieces she had envisioned. High-profile clients began wearing her pieces to events and it wasn't long until more clients were requesting to purchase her line. Ever-evolving, OLLIE & BOO pieces continue to push forward thinking boundaries. That's where Terry's artisan skills, invention, & love of puzzles comes in to play. "I would dream up a piece and show Terry the idea, not knowing if we could actualize it-and he would say, of course we can. He would invent a fresh way to build the design so it would hang just-so with ingenuity that would stand the test of time & style." Their pieces have been featured on the Today Show with Bobbie Thomas, as well in Time Out NY, Essence, Family Circle and Bust magazine. Their collection has been worn on the red carpet for Oscar 2011 & Grammy 2013 events. Amy Landecker(Oscar-nominated for Best Supporting Actress 2011), Lily Rabe(Hunger Games,American Horror Story), Kate Simses(Mixology), Jill Flint(The Good Wife/Royal Pains)and Laurel Pantin(Glamour magazine fashion editor)are just a few celeb fans who rock their line.
All pieces are handmade in Chelsea, New York.
